H1N1 Temperature Screening - 2 Sep. 2009
The College continues to be in contact with the SIP Disease Control and Prevention Centre and as a result we have changed our position in regard to the H1N1 Virus. I am pleased to inform you that we will no longer require students to observe a 7 day period of self quarantine.
It is now deemed appropriate that strict temperature check controls for all persons entering the school is sufficient instead. Therefore and with immediate effect all persons entering the school will have their temperature’s checked.
Any persons registering a temperature in excess of 37.5 degrees will be denied access to the School and if they are staff members or students they will be sent home immediately and without exception.
Your support here is greatly appreciated.
Procedure for Temperature Screening
Security Guards will screen all visitors arriving before 7.45 a.m.
4 members of staff will be present at the main gate for buses arriving
1 member of staff will be present at the main Ducks entrance
1 member of staff will be present at the side gate
From 9.00a.m. onwards all visitors to the College will be screened by the Security Guards
Any person whose temperature is over 37.5% degrees will be asked to report to the school nurse.
Procedure for temperatures above 37.5
Send to Nurse (Isolation Room in Ducks building)
Rest for 10 minutes
Temperature will be taken by ear thermometer
If temperature is above 37.5 parents will be called to collect
We will monitor our students’ health and temperatures carefully, and will take immediate action should one of our students display any symptoms. Please continue to keep your children at home if they are showing any flu-like symptoms.
We fully understand that these arrangements are an inconvenience to us all, but ask for your support in helping us to keep our school healthy. We have had no cases in school so far and we want to work together to keep it that way.
